What Is a Home Energy Audit?
A home energy audit is a systematic, whole-house assessment of how energy flows through your home — where it enters, where it escapes, and what's driving your heating and cooling costs. It goes far beyond a visual inspection.
Our audits combine a blower door test, duct leakage test, thermal imaging scan, combustion safety testing, and a detailed review of your mechanical systems and insulation levels. The result is a comprehensive report that tells you exactly what's happening in your home and what to fix first.

Duct Leakage Test

Thermal Imaging Scan
Infrared camera scan of walls, ceilings, and floors to locate missing insulation, thermal bridging, and hidden air leakage pathways invisible to the naked eye.
Combustion Safety Testing
Carbon monoxide testing and combustion appliance zone (CAZ) pressure diagnostics to ensure your gas appliances are operating safely.
Mechanical Systems Review
Assessment of your HVAC equipment age, condition, and sizing relative to your home's actual load — including filter condition and refrigerant charge indicators.

What to Expect on Audit Day
Pre-audit walkthrough
We walk through the home with you, noting any comfort complaints, moisture issues, or areas of concern. This takes about 15 minutes and helps us focus the diagnostic work.
Blower door & duct testing
We set up the blower door and run both the whole-house and duct leakage tests. With the house depressurized, we use the blower door to help locate air leakage sites.
Thermal imaging scan
With the blower door running, we scan the interior with an infrared camera. The pressure differential makes air leakage and insulation defects visible in the thermal image.
Combustion & mechanical review
We test all combustion appliances for CO and backdrafting, and review your HVAC equipment, ductwork, and insulation levels throughout the home.
Report & recommendations
You receive a written report within 24 hours covering all findings, prioritized recommendations, and estimated energy and cost savings for each improvement.
